Massimiliano Galli (born 1980) is an Italian musician and producer.

Massi started to play guitar when he was only 10 and began to perform live in his city (Milan, Italy) when he was 15. In 1997 he joined his first band Satira Prima where he met drummer Mattia Pittella. With Pittella, Marco Antoci D’Agostino, and Claudio Mercatanti he then founded his second project, Nubia. The band played several gigs and was very politically active gaining the nickname of “Italian Rage Against The Machine”. Nubia released Fastidio Sociale EP in 1999 and split in 2001. Massi kept playing with Nubia's drummer Mattia Pittella, exploring new musical territories and looking for a singer for the next project until 2005.

In the meantime, the duo performed with singer David Ragghianti’s band at the popular Festival di Recanati in 2004. Shortly after that experience Massi started writing his songs and lyrics and decided to become the singer of a new project named Rumori Dal Fondo. Massi and Mattia are the only official members of the band and released their latest album, Comete in 2019. Recorded with Italian producer Davide Ferrario (Franco Battiato, Gianna Nannini, Max Pezzali…) it features Vito Gatto (io?drama, Blonde Redhead, Einsturzende Neubauten) on violin and viola and Villagers bass player Danny Snow.

During the years RDF collaborated with many musicians from the Italian music scene including Andrea Viti (Afterhours, Karma, Fausto Rossi), Lele Battista (La Sintesi, Morgan), Giuliano Dottori (Amor Fou), and many others. The band toured Italy several times and released 3 studio albums, 1 live album (with a string quartet), 1 Movie Soundtrack, and 2 EPs.

In 2008 Massi founded the band SignA with Stefano Schiavocampo in Dublin. After playing gigs as a duo in Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, France, and Italy they released the first album Waltzes for Lilliputians (2013) with support from Italian Electronic Music label MagmatiQ.

The band was later joined by Irish musicians Rossa Cassidy and Brian O'Shea and released a new EP, Lines, in 2015. After performing at all major Irish festivals such as Electric Picnic (3 times), Body & Soul (2 times), Castlepalooza, and Another Love Story (2 times) the band went on an undefined hiatus.

Also in 2008 Massi began to produce electronic music with the moniker I.M.G. and released 4 EPs. In 2011 Fondazione RomaEuropa, one of the most prestigious institutions in Italy and Europe for the diffusion of contemporary art, theatre, dance, and music, used an I.M.G. song for their 30th anniversary trailer video. The track was played as an intro before movies in several cinemas in Rome for 6 months.

PostPrimitive is Massi’s latest project. The first album LIMITS, was released on October 5th, 2021. Postprimitive is the result of a collaboration between Massi and Daniele Idini, whose dystopian poems inspired the concept of the album which was produced, recorded, and mixed by Massi in his home studio in Dublin, Ireland, during the 2020 pandemic.

Massi lived in Dublin between 2010 and 2020. After 10 years spent in Ireland, he returned to Italy in 2020. He now lives and works in Tuscany, Italy.
